We bought this car
to go nostalgia racing. After looking closely at the bodywork we found it to be
an old Top Fuel streamliner. After research on the web to no avail I emailed
Carl Blanton to see if he knew anyone that could help. On the same day we were
informed it closely resembled the Tognotti Speed Shop streamliner “Goldfinger”.
I emailed Tognotti Auto World to try to get more info. The next day I was
emailed back & told someone in the office knew the former race shop manager &
would pass the info along. Later that day I was emailed a telephone number and
email address for Larry Crossan, a long time family friend asking we please
contact him as soon as possible. After calling him we were informed that he had
been searching for this particular car for some time & made an offer to purchase
it. We were only too happy to see it go home where it belonged. It is to be
restored to its former glory with a blown 392 on fuel, as it should be.
The 5th photo is what we were able to 'make out' as an old sticker on the fuel
tank. It is what got the ball rolling on the search.
